We have an amazing luxury in Greenville by having a health friendly town. We have areas for biking, swimming, walking and more at our fingertips. One of the best amenities for exercise is the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
The Swamp Rabbit Trail runs along the Reedy River and spans from Downtown Greenville to Traveler’s Rest. There is even a smaller part of the trail near Lake Conestee with hopes to eventually connect the two parts. The portion of the trail from Greenville to TR runs almost 19 miles. The path is paved the entire way and has spectacular views including Furman University. The trail even has a long-stretch with a soft, track-like surface included for runners. This surface is better on joints when running or walking and leads to less pain.
I love to bike the trail all the way to TR on a cool Saturday morning. Thankfully the trail is also relatively flat, which helps for both running and biking. The trail is just another way to help us get active and explore our beautiful city.
Do any of you use the Swamp Rabbit Trail? What’s your favorite part?
